Faculty Spotlight – Dr. Thurman Bridges

An associate professor of teacher education in the School of Education and Urban Studies, Dr. Bridges has recently received acceptance for presentations at several national conferences.

2013 Presentation Schedule

Paper accepted for the 7th annual International Technology, Education and Development Conference in Valencia (Spain) on the 4th, 5th and 6th of March, 2013. Paper title: Bad Boys” to Master Teachers: The Making of Black Male Teacher Identity. Paper will be presented virtually.

Paper accepted for the 2013 AERA (American Education Research Association) Conference in San Francisco, CA (April 27-May 1). Conference theme is “Education and Poverty: Theory, Research, Policy and Praxis.” Paper has been placed in a Paper Session titled, “African American Males & Females: Challenges and Transformation”
