Students Shine at National Biomedical and Behavioral Research Conference

Ms. Rachael Matthews, Chemistry senior, and Mr. Amon Dow, III, Civil Engineering senior and MBRS RISE student researcher, presented poster presentations at the 2012 Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students held in San Jose, California on November 7-10, 2012.

This national conference was attended by more that 3,400 people, including 2,100 students. More than 1,700 of the attending students participated in poster and oral presentations in 12 subdisciplines of the biomedical and behavioral sciences. For their outstanding poster presentation in their respective disciplines, Ms. Matthews and Mr. Dow received recognition and monetary awards in their disciplines. Mr. Dow also received an additional monetary award for his interdisciplinary research.
