As you may be aware, Hurricane Sandy is expected to make landfall this weekend and may move inland very close to central Maryland on Sunday. The impact of the storm will depend largely on the path of the hurricane and whether we, in central Maryland, are on the North side or South side of the eye. Please know that Morgan State University is committed to the safety of our students, faculty and staff, and the maintenance of usual operations. While we do not expect any major problems here on campus, the University has contingency plans in place to address any weather-related issues should they arise. Those plans were discussed and evaluated today and will be in place throughout the weekend in the event of severe weather.
We encourage all members of the Morgan family to monitor the university’s website and social media networks for weather-related updates and information provided by university officials and campus safety authorities.
Updates will be made available on WEAA-88.9 FM, the Morgan website as well as on Facebook (facebook.com/morganstateu) and Twitter (twitter.com/morganstateu) and via E2Campus text updates.
We encourage you to follow these networks, and to register for the campus text alerts if you have not already done so.
