Dear Morgan Family:
We regret to inform you that the New York Urban League, in consultation with Morgan State University and Hampton University, has decided to cancel this year’s Urban League Classic Football Game, featuring the Morgan Bears and Hampton Pirates. After carefully considering the devastating effects of Hurricane Sandy on the region and the lingering impact on the lives of the people of New Jersey and New York, all parties agreed that it would be best to cancel the November 17th game and allow the region to focus on recovery efforts and the safety of its citizens.
The Morgan-Hampton game will be played at Morgan State University’s Hughes Stadium on the same date, November 17th at 1:00 p.m. All money paid for hotel reservations and other accommodations associated with events organized by the MSU National Alumni Association will, of course, be reimbursed.
