The Young African Leadership Initiative

As part of President Obama’s initiative to promote, connect and cultivate young minds, Morgan State University was proud to host the Mandela Washington fellowship also known as The Young African Leadership Initiative (Y.A.L.I).  For six weeks, 25 young African professionals, from doctors and lawyers to public servants and state officials, all arrived at Morgan for leadership preparation. Each school had different concentrations and Morgan was home to community and public health management.  The summer program concluded the 1st week of August, and with the closing summit in Washington D.C., all of the fellows from all over the country reunited to network and share their experiences. Now back in their respective home countries, where they are now contributing in their distinctive way.
