MSU School of Community Health and Policy Presents Sexual Health Explosion Symposium

The Morgan State University School of Community Health and Policy continues its celebration of Women’s History Month by sponsoring the Sexual Health Explosion Symposium.

According to the U.S Department of Health and Services’ Office of Women’s Health, a woman is infected with HIV every 35 minutes in the United States and the number of infections grows by the day. The March 7^th symposium will focus on increasing awareness and prevention tactics to stem the growth of sexually transmitted diseases among women and girls.

The event, March 7th from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. in the University Student Center Theatre, will feature a panel discussion on sexual health, poster contest, Greek Step Show, HIV testing and counseling, and exhibits. Among the panelists are Dr. M. Joycelyn Elders, the first African American woman to serve as U.S. Surgeon General, and renowned New York Times bestselling author Dr. Pamela Love Manning.
