The Maryland-District of Columbia Campus Compact (MDCCC), a non-profit higher education membership association, has selected Morgan’s Dr. Lorece Edwards, as the public institution winner of the Alan G. Penczek Service-Learning Faculty Award. The award is presented to a university faculty member that has been recognized for his/her excellence in integrating service-learning into the curriculum as well as for their impact on students and the greater university community. Additionally, the MDCCC award also acknowledges the recipient’s professional leadership and achievements.
Dr. Edwards, who currently serves as the director of the Center for Sexual Health Advancement and Prevention Education (SHAPE) and as associate professor in the School of Community Health and Policy’s department of Behavioral Health Sciences, is a committed academician, a notable health professional and an innovator in the field of HIV/AIDS primary prevention. She will receive her award during MDCCC’s Presidents’ Institute Award Ceremony this November.
