Morgan SA+P Team Receives ACSA Diversity Achievement Award

Congratulations to the collaborative faculty and administration team of Gabriel Kroiz, Pavlina Ilieva and Adam Bridge for being awarded the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture’s (ACSA) 2016-17 Architectural Education – Diversity Achievement Award. Representing Morgan’s School of Architecture and Planning’s (SA+P) undergraduate Architecture and Environmental Design program, the three were recognized for their contributions to the school’s Beginning Design Curriculum.

Created to reflect the HBCU experience and leverage diverse body of students representing various minority communities, the Beginning Design Curriculum reconsiders the role of design education and makes a value proposition that actively seeks to develop design leadership from a diverse talent base for the varied challenges of today. Since Fall 2010, the Curriculum has evolved into key trajectories aimed at developing the skills necessary to observe, record, analyze, visualize and act on the built environment by challenging students to source knowledge from their immediate environment and from an inclusive field of practitioners, thinkers, and activists.

Please visit the ACSA Awards website for more information on the winning Diversity Achievement Award submission and other award recipients.
