Morgan SA+P Professor Recognized as 2017 AIA Fellow

Congratulations to Morgan State University’s Suzanne Frasier for being selected by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Baltimore Chapter as a 2017 AIA Fellow. Frasier, an associate professor in the School of Architecture and Planning’s (SA+P’s) Department of Undergraduate Design, was recognized for her enthusiastic teaching, mentorship and leadership at Morgan, as well as her collaborative academic research in India.

Only those who exemplify architectural excellence can become AIA Fellows and receive the prestigious FAIA designation after their names. AIA Fellows are recognized with the organization’s highest membership honor for their exceptional work and their contributions to architecture and society. Approximately 3 percent of the AIA’s 88,000-plus members have earned this distinction.

Frasier’s leadership as a member of the SA+P faculty has inspired program growth, innovative research and curricula, and new international experiences for students. Under her guidance, the undergraduate Architecture and Environmental Design Program has grown into a robust department with a close connection to the architectural community. Her lectures focus on the technological, historical, cultural and socioeconomic impact of the U.S. construction industry on the urban form of North America and have inspired students to pursue their passions in the field of architecture. Frasier began her career at Morgan as a professor in 2005.
