Blake Bozeman Named to 2015 Allstate NABC Good Works Team

BALTIMORE, Md. – Senior guard Blake Bozeman of the Morgan State men’s basketball team was recently named to the 2015 Allstate NABC and WBCA Good Works Team, announced on Tuesday, December 2, 2014.

The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and Allstate Insurance Company recognize a select group of college basketball student-athletes who have made significant contributions to the greater good of their communities through volunteerism and civic service.

In its third year, the Allstate NABC and WBCA Good Works Teams honor players at all levels of college basketball who represent the sport’s finest in the areas of leadership and charitable achievements amongst their peers. The student-athletes nominated for this prestigious award embody the true spirit of teamwork and giving back.

Through his first three years at Morgan State, Bozeman has been the epitome of the term “student-athlete.” Bozeman has been productive on the court, in the classroom and takes pride in helping out in the community as well. He has volunteered at a few Special Olympics events, has refereed soccer games for the mentally challenged, and organized a dance for mentally disabled students.

Bozeman, who will earn his bachelor’s degree in business marketing in December 2014, is averaging a team-high 14 points, to go along with 2.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists through Morgan State’s first seven games this year. Bozeman was selected to the Cancun Challenge All-Tournament Team and scored a career-high 21 points against Virginia Tech. As the lone senior on MSU’s squad, his experience and leadership will be critical as the Bears prepare to make another run at a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) title and an NCAA postseason berth.

Members of the Allstate NABC Good Works Team will be invited by Allstate, an official corporate partner of the NCAA, to the 2015 NABC Convention and 2015 NCAA Men’s Final Four in Indianapolis, where they will participate in a community project benefitting the host city. Members of the Allstate WBCA Good Works Team will be recognized during the 2015 WBCA Convention and at the 2015 NCAA Women’s Final Four in Tampa Bay, and will participate in a local community project. Allstate is an official corporate partner of the NABC, WBCA and NCAA.
