Morgan Psychology Department Receives National Service Award

The Department of Psychology is the recipient of the American Psychological Association (APA) Departmental Award for Culture of Service in the Psychological Sciences. The award was initiated by the APA Board of Scientific Affairs to recognize graduate and undergraduate departments that demonstrate a commitment to service in the psychological sciences.

The APA Board of Scientific Affairs recognizes that the Morgan State University Department of Psychology “exemplifies what a culture of service to the discipline should be, through its support of faculty, serving on national boards and committees, editing journals, reviewing grant and research proposals, mentoring students and colleagues, participating on university committees, and making psychological science accessible to the general public. The department demonstrates its commitment to service by providing faculty role models and treating service as a valued part of academic activity.”

The department will receive a formal citation and award of $5,000.
