NIST Names Morgan Administrator to National Board of Examiners

Congratulations to Dr. Linda Mehlinger, assistant vice president of the Office of Planning & Institutional Effectiveness, on her appointment by the Commerce Department’s National Institute of Standards and Technology_PAG8035 (1) (NIST) to serve on the Board of Examiners for the 2016 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. The examiner board is composed of leading experts competitively selected from a variety of industries and organizations from across the United States. The Baldrige Award, which is managed in part by NIST, is the nation’s highest honor for organization innovation and performance excellence.

In her role as a board examiner, Dr. Mehlinger will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating applications submitted for the Baldrige Award, as well as other assessment-related tasks. Awards are distributed annually to organizations in each of six categories: manufacturing, service, small business, education, health care and nonprofit.

Dr. Mehlinger joined Morgan in 1997. In addition to her current role in the Office of Planning & Institutional Effectiveness, she also serves as the coordinator of the Morgan Cares customer service program and as the chair of the MSU commencement committee.
