In celebration of the 60th anniversary of the American Institute of Architect Students (AIAS), sixty (60) students will have an opportunity to engage with Walt Disney Imagineers. Honorees will be able to participate in a series of lectures, workshops, and tours that highlight the design approach of the Walt Disney Imagineers. Morgan State’s very own, Maleick Fleming, junior in the Undergraduate Program in Architecture and Environmental Design, has been honored as a top 60 student.
As an applicant, Maleick submitted three short essays discussing role of the AIAS student chapter, significance of creative collaboration versus individuality, and discussing the future of architecture. Also a part of the application was to submit a self portrait in media form of choice. Maleick utilized film as his choice of media, in this case the short form art of vlogging (video blog). His self portrait focused on a group trip to Washington D.C. for a visit to Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture.
The AIAS Imagine workshop is May 19th – 21st, 2017 in Orlando.
