Morgan Launches Ambitious Customer Service Excellence Initiative

President Calls for University-wide “Cultural Transformation”

A comprehensive customer service and professional development study is underway at Morgan State University. A task force established by Morgan President David Wilson is conducting the study.

“I have asked this task force to examine all aspects of the university and devise a results-oriented action plan to foster customer-centered excellence throughout the entire institution,” said Dr. Wilson. ”I expect this process to help create a cultural transformation on our campus whereby our customers and visitors will experience high-performing individuals, teams and the university as a whole.”

Throughout the Spring 2011 semester, the task force will explore a myriad of best practices to ensure that MSU reaches a total state of high quality and excellent performance. The process includes engaging, listening and responding to all current and potential students, faculty, staff, and stakeholders. The panel is also expected to help position the Institution to accurately assess and evaluate the performance of employees, processes, and procedures that make Morgan the University of choice. The task force, led by Dr. Willie D. Larkin, executive assistant to President Wilson, is comprised of a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and the community. The group is expected to complete its review and make recommendations to the president by May 15, 2011.
