Morgan’s Dr. Eric Conway conducts for First Lady of Soul

Choir PerformanceMorgan State University is well represented during Pope Francis’ first visit to the United States. Choir director Eric Conway has the enviable task of conducting the choir (not the Morgan Choir) that will back up singer Aretha Franklin, who is part of a larger concert in Philadelphia on Saturday, September 26, 2014.

“For Aretha Franklin to ask me personally to collaborate with her once again, takes by breath away,” said Dr. Conway. “But to be asked to be a part of possibly the biggest concert in the history of the world, where Pope Francis will be in attendance is phenomenal.”

The Saturday concert, an event like no other, features the ‘Queen of Soul’ Aretha Franklin, The Fray, Sister Sledge, Andrea Bocelli, The Philadelphia Orchestra and others.

To say that the Morgan family is proud of Dr. Conway would be an understatement, and he promises, “If I am able to get a good self-ie with the Pontiff, I will share!”
