Professor’s Work exhibited at The Lowe House of Delegates Office

You-Left-Before-Me-webArt work by Department of Graduate Built Environment Design Associate Professor Ruth Connell has been selected for a curated exhibit at The Lowe House of Delegates Office in Annapolis, Maryland.

With over 462 entries, Ruth Connell, architecture professor at Morgan for over 25 years,  is one of 55 artists selected for this exhibition sponsored by the Maryland Federation of Art. The selected work is the oil painting, “You Left Before Me”. The exhibition opened on January 15 and continues through April 11.

The juror for the exhibit is Matt Klos, Associate Professor of Humanities and Visual Arts at Anne Arundel Community College and painter of interiors and plain-air landscapes. His works have been exhibited nationally and internationally.

“I am primarily a perceptual artist, interested in translating the images directly before me into paint on a surface,” states Professor Connell. “But I am also drawn to the beauty of the allegorical or metaphorical image, and the process of abstraction. “You Left Before Me”, inspired by a cell phone photograph of a night scene at a design warehouse in Baltimore, overlays reflections to provoke a narrative.”

Congratulations to Professor Connell and don’t forget to check out the exhibit!
