The School of Architecture and Planning (SA+P) recently restructured its academic unit in hopes to achieve the following goals:
Goal 1: To increase efficiencies and streamline activities among the various academic
Goal 2: To tap the intellectual synergies of disciplines to foster transdisciplinary and collaborative engagements that benefit students and faculty.
Goal 3: To utilize the lean and more organized structure to address recruitment, academic programming quality, student success, and research funding.
The academic programs will be structured under two departments: Department of Undergraduate Design and Construction and Department of Graduate Built Environment Studies. According to Dean Mary Anne Akers, each academic program will still function independently but expect more collaboration and integration among these units.
